Welding Engineer (Robotic Welding & Automation)

Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize welding processes (MIG, TIG, laser, resistance) with focus on robotic applications
Program, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic welding systems (FANUC, ABB, KUKA)
Integrate robotic welding into production lines and design workcells
Ensure weld quality, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions
Apply Lean/Six Sigma methods to improve efficiency and reduce defects
Support tooling and fixture design for robotic/manual welding
Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations
Document processes (WPS, PQR) and train staff in robotic welding operations
Lead or support welding automation projects and equipment upgrades

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Welding, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related)
3–5 years’ welding engineering experience, including 2+ years in robotic welding/automation
Hands-on experience with robotic welding programming (FANUC or similar)
Strong knowledge of welding processes, standards, and NDT methods
CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD); PLC/automation experience a plus
Certifications (CWE, CRAW) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
